Understanding EXW Pricing
What EXW means in sourcing, why the named place matters, and how transparent pricing reduces confusion.
EXW is a named-place term
A usable EXW quotation identifies the exact factory or dispatch point and the commercial conditions that apply.
EXW is not the landed cost
Inspection, testing, inland logistics, export handling, freight, insurance, duties and destination charges may be separate.
Compare like with like
Two suppliers can quote different packing, tax assumptions, inspection scope or payment terms. Normalize the basis before comparing.
Our disclosed-commission principle
Where a disclosed commission model applies, the intent is to separate the supplier/factory commercial price from our sourcing earnings rather than hide an unexplained markup.
Price changes need reasons
Quantity, specification, raw material, packing, payment terms or market conditions can legitimately change a price. The reason should be explainable.
Send the exact specification.
We will evaluate the sourcing route and required quality controls.
