Choose butt-weld fittings by geometry and finished-product specification before comparing prices. A pipe grade, a fitting material specification and a dimensional standard answer different questions. One cannot stand in for all three.
Select SS316 fittings, SS316L fittings, elbows, tees, reducers or forged couplings.
Separate each fitting family
Elbows require angle and radius. Equal tees need the run and branch sizes; reducing tees need every end identified. Concentric and eccentric reducers require both end sizes and thicknesses. Caps require the matching pipe size and end detail. Stub ends need the lap-joint assembly and dimensional series. Crosses and special branch pieces require the applicable design basis and available manufacturing route.
Dimensional and material standards
ASME B16.9 covers factory-made wrought butt-welding fittings within NPS 1/2–48 (DN 15–1200); its scope is not an ISS inventory promise. Check the selected geometry and wall-thickness requirements against the ordered edition. Low-pressure corrosion-resistant fittings under MSS SP-43 need their own specification basis. EN 10253 enquiries must identify the part and inspection requirements.
For stainless wrought fittings, distinguish ASTM A403 WP grades from ASTM A182 F grades used for forged components. Carbon/alloy, low-temperature, duplex and nickel-alloy enquiries have their own product-specification routes. Pipe designations such as A106 or API 5L alone do not define finished-fitting compliance.
A quotation-ready size schedule
List NPS or DN with the governing dimensional system, nominal wall or schedule at each weld end, fitting construction and required tolerance. Typical searches such as 2-inch Sch 40S SS316L elbow or 4 × 2-inch reducer still need the finished-fitting grade, inspection class and ordered standard. Size availability, seamless versus welded construction and special thickness must be confirmed for each quotation.
Manufacturer, OEM and factory-price enquiries
A factory-price comparison is meaningful only when material, construction, dimensions, inspection and delivery terms match. State whether you need a manufacturer-produced batch, a stockist-held lot or an OEM drawing-based order. ISS does not claim ownership of a manufacturing factory. Identify the actual maker, production location and any subcontracted forming, machining, heat treatment or testing before approval. Separate product cost, agreed inspection, packing, freight and applicable charges in the quotation. Custom marking or packaging needs an agreed drawing and authorization; it does not establish product certification.
Send a line list through our existing RFQ form with quantity, required date, delivery destination and named Incoterm. ISS supplies through a sourcing-led model, with supplier qualification, inspection coordination and export documentation agreed for the order. Availability and lead time are confirmed against the actual requirement.
