Flanges for ASTM A106 Grade B pipe
ASTM A106 covers seamless carbon steel pipe for high-temperature service. It is not a finished flange material specification. An enquiry for an “A106 flange” needs clarification before a supplier can quote a technically defined item.
Specify the flange separately from the pipe
Identify the governing piping specification and service conditions. Then state the approved flange material specification, dimensional standard and edition, type, nominal size, pressure class, facing and bore or matching pipe schedule. ASTM A105 forgings are a flange-material starting point for engineering review, not an automatic substitute for every A106 pipe application.
Any low-temperature, impact, corrosion, heat-treatment or other project requirement must be reviewed on its own basis. ISS coordinates sourcing against the buyer-approved specification. It does not select a pressure-system material solely from the pipe grade.
Send a complete matching-joint enquiry
Include the pipe designation and schedule, approved flange designation, flange drawing or standard, quantity, required certificates, inspection scope, destination and delivery basis. Confirm the mating flange, gasket and bolting requirements with the responsible engineering team.
